Business
Is the company getting stronger, not just bigger? · 1 finding−2 of −30
- −2Quality of growthRevenue is EUR 24.8bn TTM vs 25.0bn in 2025 (−0.8%) and net result is flat (10.73 vs 10.71bn); H1 profit rose only 3% reported. EPS growth (6.91 → 7.04) comes mainly from buybacks.
Price
Today's multiples against the company's own history and its peers. · 1 finding−8 of −35
- −8Multiples vs own historyP/B 1.78 vs 0.41–1.61 in 2021–2025 (record) and trailing P/E 12.0 vs 4.0–10.3 in 2022–2025; dividend yield 3.8% vs 4.6–9.1%. The share price has risen from 10.82 to 84.28 EUR since 2022 (7.8x), while EPS has risen from 3.06 to 7.04 (+130%).
Cracks
Cash flow, customers, debt, insiders, guidance and what sits behind the headline numbers. · 2 findings−7 of −35
- −5The Commerzbank takeoverUniCredit owns about 48% of Commerzbank and has scrapped a buyback of EUR 4.75bn to finance the control (the share fell 4.6%); CET1 is expected down towards about 13% after full consolidation, and on 10 Sep the board approved a capital increase for a voluntary offer for the rest. The German state (12%) and the employees have rejected direct negotiations and demand headquarters, listing and Mittelstand support.
- −2RussiaThe subsidiary bank in Russia is still in the group; Orcel says it will only be 'practically' out of the perimeter within the next year, and the Kremlin restricts the exit. Risk of write-down or sanctions cases.
Plus
Only documented strengths. · 3 findings+5 of +15

Caveats
What the score does not capture, or where the data is weak.
Bank: EV, ROIC and FCF are not meaningful; valuation on P/B, P/TBV and P/E, and the payout is held against net profit. The Q2 result (EUR 2.9bn) includes one-off items from Commerzbank hedging and financing (adjusted 3.1bn), and guidance of about 11.5bn is before integration costs. The share count is −3.15% over a year, but +1.58% in the latest quarter. The share price may be affected by the Commerzbank case (capital increase for a voluntary offer approved 10 Sep). Exposure to Italian government bonds, bank tax and insider ownership (n/a) have not been investigated. Q3 results 21 Oct.
