Business

Is the company getting stronger, not just bigger? · 3 findings
−22 of −30
  • Margin
No revenue; operating loss of CAD 26.3m and FCF −18.1m TTM, ROIC −183%. The loss is counted only here.
    −10
  • Resource and studies
The entire resource (1.12bn t at 0.51% CuEq, about 12.7bn lb CuEq) is inferred and low-grade; there is no PEA yet, and a porphyry project of this size typically requires billions of USD in capex.
    −6
  • Capital allocation
The share count has risen 177% over a year (from about 76m at end-2024 to 262.5m), and the latest placement was done at CAD 0.72, 14% below the price.

Price

  • Price performance and peers
The market cap has risen from CAD 18m (end of 2024) and 75m (end of 2025) to 307m; the share is +373% over 52 weeks. EV approx. CAD 265m corresponds to approx. CAD 0.02 per lb CuEq, in line with Los Andes Copper (EV CAD 368m), which has a PFS – Copper Giant does not even have a PEA.

Cracks

Cash flow, customers, debt, insiders, guidance and what sits behind the headline numbers. · 3 findings
−14 of −35
  • Permits and social licence
Mocoa is in Putumayo, where the project requires extensive environmental approval and consultation with indigenous peoples and local communities; Colombia has barely issued new mining permits for years, and a new government could change course again.
    −7
  • Infrastructure and construction finance
Remote mountain terrain creates logistical challenges; construction decision is not until 2029+ after FS and environmental assessment in 2027–28, so several rounds of dilution await.
    −4
  • Cash burn
Three drill rigs and a programme of approx. 23,000 m increase spending; the estimated cash of approx. CAD 42m lasts approx. 1.5–2 years before the next issue.
    −3

Plus

Only documented strengths. · 2 findings

  • Strategic investors
Denarius Metals invested CAD 28.8m (about 15.3% with a two-year lock-up), and Trafigura has the right and obligation to buy 20% of the copper and molybdenum concentrate for 10 years – an industrial validation.
    +3
  • Management and insider buying
CEO Ian Harris brought the Mirador copper project to construction (Corriente was sold for USD 690m); main shareholder Frank Giustra increased in the placement from 13.5% to about 15.8% (partly diluted) with a lock-up.

Caveats

What the score does not capture, or where the data is weak.
Penny deep dive (the price is above DKK 3). Copper Giant Resources (formerly Libero Copper & Gold) owns the Mocoa copper-molybdenum porphyry project in Putumayo, southern Colombia. Price CAD 1.17 and market cap CAD 307.2m (262.5m shares incl. the Denarius placement of 40m shares, closed 21/8-2026) from stockanalysis 2/10-2026; Nordnet showed DKK 1,140m, which appears to be before the placement. Cash after the placement (about CAD 42m) is my estimate: 16.8m at 30/6 + 31m gross − about 6m in Q3 burn. The resource is entirely inferred, and there is no PEA yet. P/B (17) makes no sense, as exploration is expensed. Warrants, options and short data have not been investigated; no analyst coverage on stockanalysis.
